After graduating from NCSU in 1994 Dr. Burroughs moved to Cerro Gordo, NC and started Columbus Veterinary Hospital in the old Ed Williamson store. This mixed animal practice grew steadily over the next few years. In 2001 Dr. Burroughs purchased Pittman Veterinary practice in Whiteville, NC. Dr. Martin joined the team in June 2002. In 2003 Dr. Burroughs consolidated the Columbus county offices into one state-of-the-art small animal facility in Whiteville. In 2005, Dr. Martin purchased one half of the practice; she and Dr. Burroughs continued practice as partners. In early 2007, Dr. Burroughs was offered a position working with livestock. He just couldn’t resist getting back to his roots. Parting on good terms, he sold his share of Southern Veterinary Hospital to Dr. Martin in June of 2007. |
